Games have been transitioned onto a nice shiny new server running in our
Ashburn, VA location.

I'm tired of cheaters.
You now need to register prior to being allowed on the Quake gaming servers.
JG20000104
QuakeWorld cheat voting has been implemented.
If you are sure that somebody is cheating (in other words, you _see_ them cheating,
you don't just suspect that that they are cheating), you may vote to have them
banned from the server. Use the "users" command to find their userid, and then
type "cheater nnn" where nnn is their userid. Please note that I get mailed when
this feature is used, and frivolous use may result in undesirable results.

Some QuakeWorld cheats have been released.
Users noticing cheaters are requested to report the cheater to service@ns.sol.net.
We would very much prefer that you carefully verify that a player is cheating
before doing this, preferably by entering spectator mode and watching the player
in question. Speed cheats are particularly easy to spot.
As a matter of policy, I have much better things to do than to listen to reports
about cheaters. So, when I do receive a report of a cheater, I am not going to be
very happy. However, my wrath will be directed in the direction of the cheater. I
_will_ report cheaters to their ISP, and request that they not participate unless
they can follow the server rules. I've already received
numerous humorous replies from ISP abuse desks. One of them called and talked to
the player's mother. If you play on my server, you _will_ follow the rules. You
_will_ exercise common courtesy and fair play. Or ELSE.

Map voting for some games is now available.

A nice shiny new machine! An ASUS P2B-DS with 256MB ECC PC100 memory and a
pair of PII-400 CPU's, it is approximately twice as fast as the old system
was. Enjoy!
JG19990304
Since the CPU is running a bit busy these days, and we are seeing peaks of
60-70 users, we've pretty much burned through the last upgrade less than a
half year ago. I've got a new machine ordered and it should be online soon,
which will allow us to host more games and more users.
